I’m devoting these lines to a few projects that have caught my eye over the past few weeks; they’re graphic design projects covering brand creation and logo design.
The highlights of August 2017
First of all is the project by Lundgren+Lindqvist for the creative Roger Burkhard.
Roger Burkhard is a creative and web developer based in Bern, the Swiss capital, and the project centres on a complete redesign of their corporate identity, offline and online.
The people behind this project were Lundgren+Lindqvist, a design studio based in Sweden.
In their own words
“The new visual identity is built around a modular system with a baseline grid constituting its smallest visual component. In addition to providing the underlaying structure applied to documents and pages on the website, the grid is also visualised in a modular header that is used throughout the identity. The header holds key contact details and can be seen as an extension of the brand marque.
Alluding to the lines of code constituting the precise systems that are characteristic of the studio’s builds, the visual identity aims to marry form with function. The dynamic system is highly flexible and extends horizontally to fit any format, with a set height for each module allowing for a coherence throughout the identity.”
Now it’s the turn of the German company Muskat, who worked together with Upstruct to create this dynamic corporate identity.
Matchmade is a smart and highly influential marketing platform, and Muskat and Upstruct made the most of its mission to create a corporate identity that’s dynamic in character — something that arrives at exactly the right moment, since years ago, in the analogue era, it would have been impossible to appreciate and a wild idea audiences couldn’t have taken in.
The overall design is built on the use of smart algorithms to create connections between marketers and consumers.
The design starts from the idea of combining two complementary halves within a single function.
And finally we’re going to look at the logo design work of Kakha Kakhadzen, a small selection of their work as a logo designer that will be more than enough for us to appreciate their talent for giving an idea shape.
Their work stands out for its use of strokes as the defining element.
