In the third instalment of Create I’m going to tell you about the Elisava University School.
Elisava offers a wide range of graphic design courses and is a very good option for anyone wanting to train in graphic design.
What is Elisava?
To give you some background, let me tell you a little about the Elisava school.
Elisava is a benchmark institution in Barcelona; founded in 1961, it has been training future graphic design professionals of the highest calibre for more than 50 years.
In fact it’s the first design school in Spain and, as a pioneer, many other schools have used it as a reference point.
It was founded by a group of professionals and cultural figures concerned with design education and committed to social and cultural modernisation.
Elisava’s philosophy is built on promoting education, knowledge, research, development and innovation in the fields of design, engineering and communication.
It has always aimed to be an international point of reference contributing to the transformation of the human environment.
It is committed to teaching and research that are innovative, flexible, creative, multidisciplinary and geared towards the professional world.
What courses does it offer?
Elisava’s range of courses is very broad, with design as its main axis.
As a graphic design and web design studio, we’ll focus on the areas closest to our own work without slighting the others.

Beyond that impressive list, Elisava offers the University Master’s in Design and Communication.
This is the most complete of them all, and with it we obtain the University Master’s in Interdisciplinary Studies in Design and Communication, an official qualification awarded by Pompeu Fabra University.
It runs for a year, from September to June, weekday afternoons; the price, mind you, matches expectations: no less than 10,500 euros, quite the investment in your future.
Through this master’s we’ll come to design by way of knowledge, understanding design critically and participatively, able to communicate relationships in new ways and to interact with media and objects, spaces, digital interfaces and people.
It’s what they call the cross-cultural view, which allows new semantic codes to be created and, through the creative process itself, new perspectives on design.
The master’s starts from design’s new fluid, multidisciplinary role, seeking professional specialisation and an introduction to research work.
A master’s that’s perfect for professionals in the field…
The academic profile it’s aimed at is:
-

-
