We’ve put together the much-anticipated article featuring the 10 best web designs of the year.

Websites where the creative team has thrown everything at it with an excellent result, worthy of a place on this list.
For newcomers: we put this list together taking into account factors such as graphic design, usability, web design, programming, development, user experience and how difficult the projects were to pull off.
Personally we’re going to try to bring you a list of winning websites that strike a good balance between the traditional website standard and those that are pure user experience.
We leave out the ones built purely around user experience, since we consider them closer to a video game or a film than to a content-driven website.

It’s rare for a site to appear on this list whose content isn’t directly tied to the world of web design or brand creation.
Here we have a clear example of how a web design can be built from scratch, with a concept aimed squarely at the manufacturing sector.
What stands out about this site is its fluid, elegant design with a touch of strength that its business absolutely needs.

Unlike the previous entry, Dieantwort’s design is indeed devoted to the world of graphic design, web and brand creation.

Uncanny Valley’s site is a commitment to web design in every sense.
Vertical scroll navigation combined with a traditional top menu guides us through all the sections of this site, whose standout feature is the graphic design work and the build that followed.
The design evokes the Doctor Who time tunnel or something like it, a mid-twentieth-century sci-fi air and extreme use of type, exactly as the web design trends dictate.
Design Canada
Through Design Canada’s design we travel the history of graphic design in Canada from its beginnings.
As you’d expect on a site like this, web design is of central importance to the project.
A minimalist, bold design with navigation combining a vertical format and a fixed panel on the right.
The fixed menu is designed in a mobile-app format, one of the trends that holds on and gains strength year after year.

The menu is designed around king-size type with closely matched interaction.

Every section of the site has a minimalist design in which the use of type and the complete lack of shyness about colour stand out above all else.
Body 10
The last entry goes to the Body 10 site, where we can see how to combine web design with physical excellence.
The appeal and the achievement here isn’t in showing the sculpted bodies of great athletes.
The key is doing it without tipping into provocation or pornography, bringing the person closer to the viewer.

As you can see, advances in technology are making websites ever more interactive.
Limits on usability and load speed are gradually falling away.
It’s getting harder and harder to find the limits of good web design paired with good development.
Users get to move through sites quickly and smoothly.
For us, the «purpose makers» of web design and programming, it’s a challenge we take on gladly.

We’ve seen that large type, unapologetic colour and bespoke modular designs are a trend in web design.
