With a few doubts, you ask us what the process is for making a logo, how you can take part in it, and what the price of producing the new logo is.

You can see the process for designing a logo and how we work in our services section; follow this link for the detail.

To give you information about price and about which graphic design studio in Barcelona you might go with, I’ll share a few useful pointers that explain why some graphic designers charge so much and others so little.

  • The graphic design studio’s portfolio
  • Who will be behind the logo design?
  • The price of a good logo
  • Who should I commission my logo from?

The graphic design studio’s portfolio

It’s very important that whoever produces your logo design is a professional; it isn’t wise to leave something as important as your business’s graphic mark in the hands of people who haven’t made a great many logos.

It isn’t simply a question of creativity: there are other factors that will make the difference in the final design of a logo.

So look at their portfolios, weigh up their work, ask them to show you the creation process behind a particular logo if you need to, and you’ll get a firmer idea of how they work and what results they get.

Who will be behind the design of your logo?

It’s also worth knowing who the person or team handling the logo design will be.

It isn’t a matter of quantity but of quality, so one person alone may be perfectly capable of producing a good logo design for you. What matters is that you know who that person is, and I don’t just mean their name.

Ask without hesitation: training, interests, experience.

It’ll help you know who you’ll be dealing with if you go with them, and you’ll have begun getting to know and opening up to the graphic designer you’re commissioning your logo from.

The price of a good logo

The points above are undoubtedly very important when reading a quote. Clients often ask us how it’s possible that a competitor gave them a particular price, whether high or low.

Why have I been quoted such a low price for a logo design?

It’s straightforward: a graphic designer without experience or resources will tend to quote well below the real price of a logo project.

It’s very simple: without a good portfolio they can’t demonstrate their experience.

Experience is closely tied to the chances of any project succeeding, including a logo design.

And if the price is very high for a logo design?

Equally, a large company with a huge workload and few staff will tend to quote well above the right price, for the simple reason that its stomach is already full.

A logo is a very important project from our personal point of view, but it’s true that some very large studios don’t give it the attention it deserves in good times, so they throw out very high prices to try to squeeze the most out of their capacity.

Who should I choose to handle my logo design?

The easiest thing at this point would be to tell you to call us and think no further, but frankly we’re not comfortable with that and it isn’t part of our company philosophy.

The best thing you can do is knock on a few doors and bear in mind what you’ve just read.

Once you’ve done that, the answer may well be right in front of you; and if you’re still not sure, let your instinct guide you.

Designing a logo is a considerable act of trust, and only with everything clear will you get what you’re looking for.
