After eight years with the same website, patching and tweaking it constantly to keep it going, the time has come to bury it once and for all.
Taking a far more personal and artistic direction, this new site is aimed more at presenting me as a graphic designer and web developer, and moves away from the more marketing oriented approach of the old one.
Along with the whole visual side, the images and the rest, the copy across the site has changed a great deal too. Much more direct and, I’d say, with more personality.
About the website
The technologies used are:
- A WordPress build (bespoke and without using off the shelf templates <- house rule). This way I can post projects and blog entries far more quickly and easily.
- PHP to develop the server side functionality
- JQuery, JS and CSS to create all the animations you can see on the site (and there are plenty)
- HTML and CSS to build the front end
- Illustrator for the design side of the site
That’s all for now. I’ll say goodbye by promising that I’ll soon be posting a few pieces on design and web development trends, to round off the year on the right foot.
