Today I want to talk about one of the latest projects I’ve worked on. Specifically, the project for Institut del Cava.
On this project my role was the build and the programming of the website. The design side was handled by the graphic design studio Bulldog Studio, a studio I’ve been collaborating with for several years now whenever they need a hand with programming and front end work.
Institut del Cava, the new website
On the design
The design, as I said, was done by Bulldog Studio, a graphic design studio based in Barcelona.
Skilfully executed, the result is a fresh, contemporary website, ready to be seen on large screens as well as on the small screen of a smartphone.
A long way from the old site Institut del Cava had, this new website pays particular attention to the visual side and to imagery, giving visitors far more to look at.
Special care went into the new wineries section, where you can see photographs of each winery and their contact details, along with a short description of each one.
On the programming and build
The programming and build of the website was the part I handled myself.
WordPress was used as the foundation of the project and I imagine at this point there’s no need for me to say that, obviously, no kind of off the shelf template was used to create the HTML structure.
Thanks to WordPress, the client can manage all the content on the website easily and intuitively.
For the front end, I used JQuery to create numerous visual effects that give the site a very dynamic, interactive feel.
