In the following post we’ll show a few logos for architecture practices we’ve personally loved and which we hope will serve both as inspiration to other designers looking for ideas and to architecture practices considering a change of corporate identity, with a new logo design among those changes.
Within graphic design, the process of creating a logo is among the most complex tasks, since it has to capture the company’s philosophy; visually it needs to be a form that «makes things simpler rather than harder» and it has to be easy to remember: like the catchy chorus of that summer song that comes flooding back the moment you hear two similar notes.
Without further preamble, here’s our small but carefully chosen selection, put together at our graphic design studio in Barcelona:
We loved the minimalism and the touch of colour the light blue brings alongside the dark grey.
In this logo you can see the L formed as a transparent structure. The rounded edges of that same L, together with the rounded typeface chosen, make an excellent combination.
You can make out the A and the M (Allen – Mason), along with the A of Architects, within the same logo. It can also call to mind architectural elements: a cube in 2D, the corner of an architectural plan, streets and so on.
We liked this one a great deal for its minimalism and its typography. Within the same logo we can pick out the letters M, A and N, as well as forms that read as typically architectural, and there’s very likely some other hidden meaning we’re missing.
This one in particular we liked a lot for the colour it brings through its chosen palette.
Good use of minimalism combined with negative space, along with basic architectural forms such as straight lines meeting at angles.
With this particular architecture logo, we liked that to read it correctly you have to look into the «rhombus» as though it were a cube, and inside it see the letters H M D in a row, creating a powerful illusory effect.
